20 Questions

Because I can’t seem to finish a book.

Because catching up on reviews requires time I don’t have.

Because I saw this on Word for Worms and thought it was really sweet.

Here’s 20 questions about me you probably didn’t need to know.

1. HOW TALL ARE YOU?

I’m 5’6… just. I may have rounded up by a centimetre.

2. DO YOU HAVE A HIDDEN TALENT?

I play the piano, have done for 10 years. I even have a beautiful digital piano in my flat!

3. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST BLOG-RELATED PET PEEVE?

Hmm… That’s a difficult one. I hate people that write short reviews. You liked it, great – what else? What did you REALLY think? I am a huge culprit of this; sometimes there’s just not enough time in the week to work and read and review regularly so I cheat a little. I should be more sympathetic to others who face the same time constraints… but I’m not.  Sorry.

4. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST NON-BLOG RELATED PET-PEEVE?

People taking up my reading space on the train and then giving me a dirty look for it. I’m not a very big person (I’m only 5’6) and my Kindle really doesn’t take up much space. If I’m polite enough to move my book out of the way for you to get on the train, you can be polite enough to offer the tiny space a kindle takes up for me to continue reading.

5. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SONG?

Difficult one, I listen to so many different types of music, there simply can’t be ONE favourite song. Let’s break it down into current favourites by genre (can you tell I love lists? Can you? Can you?!)

Classical – Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven
Rap – Hate Me Now by Nas
Motown – My Girl by The Temptations
R&B – No Diggity by Blackstreet

6. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ETSY SHOP?

What? What is this Etsy? And how do I not know about it…. [Cue really long online shopping spree]

7. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND YOUR FREE TIME WHEN YOU’RE ALONE?

Reading (well duh?!) but I also have tons of TV shows to catch up on and I’m trying to learn how to do a crossword or, at least, not suck at a crossword.

8. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE JUNK FOOD?

Dominoes stuffed crust, especially when hungover. Ooh! Or a bacon sandwich – but I feel that doesn’t count as ‘junk’, rather necessary to life.

9. DO YOU HAVE PETS?

Nope. I can barely look after myself. I would like a puppy though… and my birthday is coming up. A kitten will suffice too.

10. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE FICTION AND NONFICTION BOOKS?

Seriously? I can only pick one? Gonna have to be favourites from this year so far

• Fiction: The Robot in the Garden by Deborah Install
• NonFiction: Plato – Symposium/The Death of Socrates (still reading this)

11.  WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCT?

I’m currently addicted to Dior Lip Glow – you put it on and it changes colour to suit your lips. Genius!

12. WHEN WERE YOU LAST EMBARRASSED?

Today. I wrote pastilles as ‘pastels’ in an email and got corrected. My defence? None. I just got excited about sweets.

13. IF YOU COULD DRINK ONE BEVERAGE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

One drink? Forever? Has to be water. The only drink you can’t actually get bored of. I mean, I’ve had it pretty much every day of my life already, right? And we’re made up of water too… right?

14. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?

What is with the picking of one thing per favourite subject matter – I have so many! If I was forced to choose, it would be Scarface, I just love it.

15. WHAT WERE YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL? PROM QUEEN, NERD, CHEERLEADER, JOCK, VALEDICTORIAN, BAND GEEK, LONER, ARTIST, ETC?

I was a misfit, I had friends in every group but didn’t fit in completely with any completely. Until a bunch of us misfits made a group of our own. We’re still friends now. Almost been 20 years… that doesn’t make me feel old at all.

16. IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU LIVE?

There’s tons of places I would love to travel, but London is my home. Got my peeps here and don’t think I could be anywhere else. However, I’d consider retiring to a lovely villa somewhere in Italy…by the coast…

17. PC OR MAC?

Still a PC girl. I have a Macbook at home and we’re usually on good terms. However, the ‘6’, ‘y’ and ‘?’ keys aren’t working so we’re not talking at the moment.

18. LAST ROMANTIC GESTURE FROM A CRUSH, DATE, BOYFRIEND?

I went on a date where I was taught how to make a napkin rose. It definitely scored a few date points – even if my first attempt was much better than his.

19. FAVORITE CELEB?

A little bit in love with Emma Watson. She was Hermione Granger and is now an incredible UN ambassador. Need I say more?

20. WHICH BLOGGER DO YOU SECRETLY WANT TO BE BEST FRIENDS WITH?

Seriously tough question – anyone who puts in the time to write reviews and blogs about books is already one of my favourite people; I have a lot of love for you all!
